KASPA is a Special Project of Assisi Animal Refuge in Killeen, solely dedicated to the support of Killeen Animal Control and area stray and abandonned animals..
Since 2007, KASPA has:
- Raised fund for Killeen Animal Control Shelter operations;
- Assisted the City of Killeen and Assisi Animal Refuge with holding annual low cost shot clinics;
- Collected donations for the animals in the shelter like blankets, pools, leashes, etc.
KASPA Goals for 2011
We will continue our service to the animals of the Killeen Animal Control Shelter by collecting donations, fundraising and expanding our service to assisting with grant writing.
Animal Control's goal is to be able to reduce the euthanasia rate and improve adoptions, which is only possible if the shelter is can sustain a long term canine and feline population, which has different requirements than for a high-kill shelter.
In order to retain animals in the shelter long term, separate facilities have to be available for fresh intakes, kennels for the recently released stray population for public viewing and kennels / cages for long term resident, adoptable animals.
Emergency Veterinary Fund
